A beautiful gilt framed wall mirror dating from the early to mid 19th Century. The frame is carved wood and gesso and it has an ornate border of oak leaves and acorns. It would have most likely had a painting in originally and the glass is not original but the frame suits the mirror well.
It can be used both portrait or landscape, making it suitable as an overmantel mirror.
It is in good original condition and the gilding is bright. There are some minor damages and small losses around the edges of the frame and some age related cracks in the gesso but nothing detrimental. There have been metal brackets put on the corners at some point to help support the frame and prevent any deterioration.
