A good quality Georgian mahogany Linen Press dating from the early 19th Century. It has two nicely panelled cupboard doors that open to a shelved interior with the original linen slides that pull out. The slides are lined with original blue penny paper. Below this are two short and two long drawers with brass plate handles on bracket feet. The cornice has nice dentil moulding and the grain of the book matched veneer on the doors is superb. It also comes with its original working key for the cupboard doors.
It is in very good condition. The interior is clean and tidy and the drawers open smoothly. It would have originally had 4 or 5 slides but does now only have 3. The brass handles are not original and there are very faint marks where the outline of the old handles can be seen. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and small knocks but no major damages. There have been some minor repairs of the veneer in places around the drawers but nothing detrimental.
