A large French settee dating from the late 19th century. It has a beautiful giltwood frame with scrolling arms with acanthus detail and leaf borders. It stands on four turned and fluted legs.
It has just been completely stripped back to the frame, re-webbed and re-sprung and traditionally upholstered using horse hair and a good quality striped linen that compliments the gilt frame.
It is in excellent condition throughout and is strong and sturdy with no major damages. There are some signs of age and use and minor marks and small losses to the gilding around the frame but nothing untoward for a piece of this age.
