A superb antique French Farmhouse table dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made from Chestnut and oak with a thick planked top. The table stands on square legs joined by a central stretcher and there is a small drawer on one side.
It is a good size, comfortably seating 6 - 8 with ample leg room on all sides of 24 1/2" (62cm).
The table has a lot of character and a wonderful rich patina. There are many old surface marks and knocks, some old woodworm and signs of age and use but it is a solid and sturdy piece and all signs of woodworm have been treated as a precaution.
There have been some old repairs over the years including new tips on the legs but nothing detrimental or untoward and it all adds to the history and character of the piece. The table has been cleaned and gently polished to retain its patina and is ready for use.
