Product Details

A good example of an antique farmhouse chair dating from the late 19th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved arms supported by turned spindles. It is high backed with shaped splats and stands on bulbous turned legs joined by a double stretcher.

The chair stands approximately 44" (112cm) high. Arm to arm is 25 1/2" (65cm) wide and it is approximately 20" (51cm) deep. The seat is 17 1/2" (45cm) high.

It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy with a lovely rich patina. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks around the legs and some surface marks on the seat but nothing detrimental. There is an old repair to the top rail which looks like an old knot in the wood that would have come loose. The chair has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
