Product Details

A good example of an antique farmhouse chair dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved scrolling arms. It is high backed with lathe supports and it stands on turned legs joined by a H-shaped stretcher.

The chair stands approximately 38" (97cm) high and 20" (51cm) wide. The seat is approximately 15 1/2" (39cm) high and 17" (43cm) deep. It is likely the chair has lost a little bit of height over the years as the tips of the legs have worn.

The chair is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks around the legs, some minor surface marks on the seat and a couple of old repairs but nothing detrimental. It has developed a lovely rich patina and has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
