An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a comfortable wide and deep shaped elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher.
It is approximately 32" (81cm) high, 18" (46cm) deep and it is 25 1/2" (65cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 18" (46cm) high.
It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a nice aged patina and is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few small marks, knocks and signs of age and use but no major damages and nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
