A lovely example of an early 20th Century music or filing cabinet. It has 9 drawers and an attractive tambour front with its original ebonised finish and art nouveau style brass handle. The tambour front opens smoothly and it comes with a working key. It has a maker / retailer's label for "H.Bock. Dresden" as well as a stamped serial number "6417". The oak trays slide smoothly in and out and are clean and tidy. The top of the cabinet hinges up and can be rested at an angle on an easel back for displaying music or books and the whole piece stands on four small castors.
It is in good condition and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some wear and small losses to the black ebonised finish, some light surface marks and small knocks and chips here and there but nothing detrimental or untoward and it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
