A lovely set of oak drawers dating from the early 18th Century with its original brass ring handles and brass escutcheons. They have a beautiful rich patination and a good solid back. The drawers are set on bun feet which are later than the chest itself and have been replaced at some point, however they are good quality and in keeping with the period.
There are the usual minor signs of wear and age and some age related splits but nothing detrimental or untoward for a chest of this age. The drawers run well however there are some minor stains and splits within the drawers. They would probably benefit from a paper lining. The chest is strong and sturdy and overall they're a good quality set that displays beautifully.
