A nice example of a continental pine storage cupboard dating from the late 19th Century. It has a pierced brass vent in the front door so was likely for food storage originally. It stands on bun feet and has a single panelled door which opens to reveal a shelved interior. It comes with its original working key.
It is in good condition and the pine has mellowed to an attractive colour over the years. It has been cleaned and given a smooth waxed finish, retaining its lovely aged patina. The shelves inside are generally clean and tidy although there are some old marks and stains. There are of course signs of age and use, a few old knocks and marks here and there but nothing untoward. There are some minor signs of historic worm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically.
