A good example of a walnut collectors box dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a brass inlaid escutcheon and matching brass cartouche and it comes with its original working key. It has a lift-out tray which is partly sectioned and a further storage area below.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are some signs of age and use, some knocks and marks and minor shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental and the box has developed a lovely patina. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
