A small Chinese hardwood table dating from the early 20th century. It is most likely made of Padauk or Rosewood and has a rectangular mitre joined top standing on square legs with nicely carved stretchers and slightly hoofed feet.
It is a good quality piece made from good strong timbers with a subtle Eastern influenced design. It is nicely finished on all sides so would suit a side table or a centre table.
It is in good condition with a lovely patina. There are signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and light knocks and there has been an old repair to some damage at the top of one leg (see photo) but it is strong and sturdy and displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and given a gentle polish and is ready for use.
