A most unusual cast iron hall chair dating from the mid 19th Century. It has a solid oak seat and the rest of the frame is the most wonderful ornate cast iron with scrolling X-Frame legs joined by a rope twist stretcher and an oval balloon back. It is excellent quality and extremely heavy.
It is in good condition and is strong and sturdy. There are some traces of old green paint on the metal work and the whole piece has a lovely patina. There are a few marks on the seat and signs of age and use but no major damages or breaks. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
