A superb early 19th century seaman's chest made from Camphor with its original rope handles and cleats. It has a naively applied brass diamond around the keyhole and it does come with a working key. Inside it has a small candle box.
It is in very good condition for its age and has a superb colour and patina. It strong and sturdy with signs of age and use, some small knocks and surface marks here and there but nothing untoward. The inside is generally clean and tidy and it has been cleaned and lightly polished and it displays beautifully.
