A superb quality French Louis Philippe commode, dating from the mid 19th Century. It is made from Burr Walnut with the most fabulous colour and patina and it has a grey and white marble top. There are three drawers, each with their original ornate brass handles and matching escutcheons, plus an additional flush drawer fitted below the marble top.
It is in excellent condition and is strong and sturdy. The drawers open smoothly and are clean and tidy inside. There are a few minor signs of age and use, a few small knocks and marks but nothing detrimental and there are no damages to the marble. There are some signs of historic worm in the back boards which has been treated as a precaution. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
