A lovely brass tabletop dinner gong, dating from the early 20th Century. It is excellent quality and the gong hangs in a barley twist oak frame and it comes with its original wooden handled beater. The gong itself is stamped "Burmese" and there is a retailers plaque on the back for "Homettes. Regd".
It is in good condition for its age. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and displays very well. There are some minor signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks and some tarnishing on the brass but nothing detrimental. The beater end is a little worn (see photos) but it is certainly still usable and most importantly it makes a very satisfying and loud 'gong'!
