A good example of an original antique lantern dating from the early 20th Century, most likely used on board a ship. It has a brass maker's plaque marked "Davey & Co London Ltd. London. England". It is fitted with clear glass protected by a metal cage and has a carrying handle. It has its original oil burner inside which is accessed through the hinged lid.
It is in good original condition. The lamp has been lightly cleaned is ready for display. It has a nice aged patina and is not without some knocks and scratches and the brass has tarnished over time. There is a small dent in the top. The glass has no major damages. I have not tested the oil burner and it is sold as seen although the wick turner moves well.
