A stylish brass desk lamp dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It has a pretty cranberry glass shade with flared rim and etched detail. The brass has a beautifully patinated finish and it stands on a round weighted foot with tall arched arm.
Likely once a gas lamp it has now been converted to electric. The lamp has been re-wired and PAT Tested and is in good working order. It takes a standard bayonet bulb.
It is in good condition for its age. There are signs of age and use and some surface marks here and there and an old split in the small brass handle but it is strong and sturdy and overall it displays very well. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for use.
The base of the lamp measures approximately 6" (15cm) wide. The lamp stands approximately 22 1/2" (57cm) tall and the shade is approximately 6 3/4" (17cm) diameter.
