A good example of an original antique lantern dating from the early 20th Century, most likely used on board a ship. It has an arched brass top with carry handle and fixing bracket on the back. It has clear glass and a corrugated metal reflective plate on the back to amplify the light. The side door opens to access the burner and inside is its original oil burner with wick turner stamped 'English Made. 3/4in W'. The lamp is also stamped on the back 'Made in England'.
