Product Details

A very nice example of a barometer / thermometer dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is cased in a brass bulkhead style mount with glass covering the face. The white face has the barometer dial from 28" to 31" and a black arrow pointer which reads the pressure and a brass arrow which can be adjusted from the screw in the middle to mark the current pressure and read the change. There is also a glass thermometer below reading in centigrade and Fahrenheit. The middle of the face is cut away to show the barometer working behind which is a nice feature. There is a brass ring in the top of the case for hanging.

It is in good condition for its age. The glass is clean and has no major surface scratches. The face is clean and bright with no damages. The brass case has been lightly polished to retain its natural aged patina and displays very nicely. There are some small marks, light surface scratches and small dinks but nothing detrimental. It seems to be in working order. I've done 'the bag test' and the pointer certainly moves as it should do but I cannot guarantee its accuracy as I haven't referenced the readings.

Approximate Measurements :

Diameter : 5" / 13cm

Depth : 2" / 5cm
