Product Details

Good example of an original Pigmyphone, made in Germany in the early 20th Century. It is contained within a lithographed tinplate case with 'Bing Pigmyphone' and the Bing logo on the top. There is an on/off start lever on the side.

The mechanism of the gramophone is kept in the bottom of the tin. The green turntable fits above this and the soundbox and horn are fitted in the corner. All the parts pack away into the tin when not in use. It comes with its original winding key and 3 old records.

It is in good condition for its age. All parts are original and I have tested the gramophone with a few old records and all parts seems to work as they should. The sound is not fantastic but this could be a reflection on the needles or the records. There is some wear, some small dinks and light surface rust on the outer case but the hinge is good and overall it displays very well.

Approximate Measurements:
Box : 6" (15cm) square by 3" (8cm) high

Diameter of turntable : 5 1/2" (14cm)
