A good example of an antique Windsor Bar-Back carver chair dating from the mid to late 19th century. It has a shaped elm seat with curved arms supported by ring turned spindles. It has a curved back with central turned bar and stands on turned legs joined by a H-stretcher.
The chair stands approximately 36" (91cm) high and it is 22" (56cm) wide across the arms. The seat is 16" (41cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.
It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy with no signs of worm or any major damages. There are signs of age and use and some light marks and knocks on the seat and around the legs but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
