Product Details

A lovely set of antique balance beam scales dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. The scales are made of brass and has one brass pan suspended by chain and another metal pan on a brass cradle. The beam is marked "Class B. To Weigh 2oz". The scales screw into the top of the box for easy use wherever they would have been set up and pack away neatly into the drawer below.

They come with a stack of 5 brass weights weighing from 4oz to 1/4oz.
The whole set is in very good condition and displays well. The brass has tarnished over time and there are signs of age and use and some minor marks and chips on the box but nothing detrimental. Although complete, they are really being sold as a decorative collectors item rather than an accurate scientific instrument.
Measurements :
Box : 10" x 5"
Height : 14" (36cm)
Beam Length : 8" (20cm)
