Product Details

A lovely original Pill Roller dating from the late 1800s. It consists of two main parts, the board and the roller. The roller is made of thick strong mahogany with two handles. It fits over the sides of the board and has wheels to enable it to roll backwards and forwards. The underneath of the roller is fitted with a brass plate with grooves in it that match the board, enabling the mixture to be pressed into the grooves and formed into a tubular shape. The board is made of mahogany with brass sides and matching brass grooves.

It is excellent quality and has remained in very good original condition and it displays beautifully. The wood has various marks and small knocks and scratches that have been picked up over the years but that all adds to the patina and original look. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for display.

Approximate Measurements:

Board : 14" (36cm) long by 8" (20cm) wide

Roller : 16" (41cm) long
