A lovely small Anglo-Indian trunk dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is made of an exotic hardwood, probably teak and it has nicely carved cushioned detail around the sides. The lid opens to reveal a fitted interior with a sectioned top layer, some of which slides, and a central part which lifts out. Great for documents, trinkets or collectables. It comes with a working key.
It is in very good condition for its age and has developed a lovely patina. It strong and sturdy with some minor signs of age and use, some small knocks and surface marks here and there but nothing detrimental. The hinges and lock have been replaced at some point and there have been a few other small repairs but nothing untoward and it displays very well.
