A lovely carved anglo-indian box dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It is made of an exotic dense hardwood and is traditionally decorated with profusely carved foliage with three larger raised leaves on the top. The hinged lid opens to reveal a plain interior with more carving below the lid. The box comes with its original working key.
It is in good solid order with no major damages. It has been well used and developed a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are some general signs of age and use, some small knocks, old splits and minor losses but nothing detrimental.
