Product Details

A good example of an antique American armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has steamed bentwood arms and a high back with turned spindles and engraved decoration on the back rest. It stands on turned tapering legs joined by triple stretchers. The seat has a pierced ply centre with nailed border.

The chair stands approximately 43 1/2" (110cm) high, the seat is 18 1/2" (47cm) deep, 21" (53cm) wide and 17" (43cm) high.

It is in good condition and is strong and sturdy with no signs of worm or any major damages. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light scratches on the seat and around the legs and some wear on the finish here and there but nothing detrimental. It has developed a wonderful rich patina and has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
