A superb early oak larder cupboard. A good country piece, most likely estate made. It is constructed of oak with holes drilled in the sides and front in attractive circular patterns for ventilation. The door opens to a simple shelved interior.
It is in good condition for its age with a wonderful patina. It has a working lock and key and the hinges are in good order. There are many signs of age and use and many areas of old woodworm which have all been treated as a precaution but the whole piece is strong and sturdy and displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and given a light coat of wax to retain and enrich its natural patina.
