Product Details

A good example of a large 18th Century solid Sterling silver spoon. It is a large tablespoon size or small serving spoon. It is a simple design with engraved initials that look like 'DJ' on the tip of the handle. It is a good quality piece and weighs approximately 67g.

It measures approximately 8 1/2" (22cm) long and the spoon itself is 1 1/4" (4cm) wide x 3" (8cm) long.

It is clearly hallmarked for Exeter, 1797 and the maker Joseph Hicks.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
