A superb example of a large original Delft Tobacco Jar dating from the 18th Century. It is a traditional blue and white design and is labelled "SINDOMINGO". It has a blue underglaze mark on the base. It comes with a metal cover with turned finial.
It is a nice large size, standing 15" (38cm) tall including the lid and is approximately 9" (23cm) wide.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some surface marks, and small surface chips and losses (photographed). There is wear around the rim but no major damages and nothing that detracts from its overall appeal. I do not know if the cover is original to the jar but it is typical of the sort and suits it well. The colours have remained bright and vibrant and it displays well.
