Product Details

A fine example of an early 19th Century Tea Caddy. It is an attractive sarcophagus shape with wooden ring handles, moulded edging and small bun feet. It is made from rosewood with beautiful mother of pearl inlaid decoration and it comes with its original working key.

It has two lidded compartments, one marked "G" and the other marked "B" and it comes complete with a beautiful cut glass mixing bowl. The inside of the lid is lined with lovely old green velvet with a tooled edge.

It is in very good condition for its age. The inside is clean and tidy and the exterior has a rich patina. The glass bowl is undamaged with a lovely ring to it. The linings inside the tea compartments have worn over time and there are some minor signs of age and use, some marks and small splits but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
