A large floor-standing mahogany microscope slide cabinet dating from the mid 20th Century. It has a glass door and 56 drawers. All of the drawers have ivorine labels and are divided internally into three sections. We estimate each drawer can hold approximately 36 slides which gives the cabinet a capacity of over 2000 slides! These pieces are also excellent for coin or medal collectors.
It has its original maker's label inside the door for "CAMLAB (Glass) Ltd, Cambridge".
The cabinet itself is a good quality piece and the mahogany has a lovely mellow colour and nice aged patina. It comes with a working key.
It is in good condition and is certainly very usable. It is not new and has some minor signs of age and wear but nothing that is detrimental. The drawers all open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy.
