Product Details

A good example of a Georgian pine dresser dating from the late 18th / early 19th century. It is a good quality piece with panelled sides and it stands on bracket feet. The base has 3 drawers above 3 central dummy drawers with cupboards either side. The cupboards open to reveal a shelved interior. The cupboards have small brass knobs and the drawers have brass plate handles which, although aren't original, suit the piece well.

The top part of the dresser is architectural in style with a moulded cornice and two narrow cupboards flanking shelves which are set back. The backboards have been painted dark green at some point which matches the interior of the drawers and cupboards too.

The dresser is in good condition throughout and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. It has been thoroughly cleaned and has a nice smooth waxed finish. It is not without some signs of age and use, some marks and stains, small knocks, old chips and minor shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental or untoward for a piece of this age.

It splits into two parts for ease of transport.
