A good Georgian mahogany chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. The drawers have their original brass swan neck handles and the chest stands on bracket feet. It is a good quality piece, well made and the colour and patina of the mahogany is lovely.
It is in good original condition. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks on the top, a few knocks around the feet and an old shrinkage split on one side but nothing untoward or detrimental and it displays well. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well. There are some signs of historic worm in the backboards which has all been treated as a precaution. The chest has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
