A superb Georgian mahogany tilt-top wine table dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It has a circular one-piece mahogany top standing on a gun-barrel turned support with tripod splayed legs and pad feet. The top rotates on a bird-cage mechanism with a wooden wedge and it also tilts.
It is in good condition for its age and displays beautifully. The table has a lovely rich colour with a good level top, strong catch and smooth tilting mechanism. There are some signs of age and use, a few small surface marks, old stains and light knocks but nothing detrimental and there are no major damages. There have been some old repairs to the reverse of the table top and there is a slight warp but the table is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
