A good antique pine blanket box dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. The pine has mellowed to a lovely warm colour and the box has metal carrying handles. It stands on small bracket feet and the lid has its original strap hinges. The interior has two small hidden drawers concealed behind a sliding wooden cover. The interior is also painted in the original painted finish.
The box is a good size for a coffee table, end of bed storage or toy trunk.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. It is strong and sturdy and generally clean and tidy inside. There are some signs of age and use, some general knocks and light marks but nothing detrimental. There are some old signs of historic woodworm which has been treated as a precaution and doesn't concern us. The box has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
