A good example of a solid Silver cigarette case with gilt interior. It is a typical art deco design with engine turned detail and small engraved monogram 'AAR' in one corner. It is good quality, weighing approximately 97g.
There is an inscription on the interior which reads "From H.G.Officers, 3rd Flintshire Home Guard, on her 21st Birthday".
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1917 and the maker Deakin & Francis.
It is in good condition for its age and the hinge and catch are in good order. There are a few small dinks and surface marks and light scratches but no major damages and overall it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
