A good antique pine blanket box dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. The pine has mellowed to a lovely warm colour and it is a good quality piece with dovetail joints. The box has metal carrying handles and the lid has its original strap hinges, opening to a plain interior.
A good size for a coffee table, end of bed storage or toy trunk.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. It is strong and sturdy and generally clean and tidy inside. There are signs of age and use, some general knocks and light marks and some minor shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. The box has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
