Antique Adjustable Hat Stretcher
Beautiful original wooden hat stretcher dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It also serves as an adjustable stretcher as well. It is made in two halves, joined by metal dowels with an adjustable metal screw to either push apart or pull together the two halves. It sits on a thick wooden base with an ivorine sizing chart under the movable section of the stretcher.
It is made of solid pine which has developed a beautiful rich patina over the years. It is a good quality item and is in good original condition with no major damages. It has picked up some light scratches and knocks and small surface marks that all add to the patina but nothing that detracts from its overall appeal. The writing on the sizing chart is worn and not fully readable but the item is certainly still usable and it displays very nicely.
