Georgian Rosewood Tea Caddy
A fine example of an early 19th Century sarcophagus shaped Tea Caddy on small bun feet. It is made from beautifully figured Rosewood and has an inlaid mother of pearl decoration with matching mother of pearl escutcheon. Inside are two lidded sections and a cut glass mixing bowl.
It is in excellent condition for its age and displays beautifully. The glass bowl is undamaged however I'm not sure that it is the original bowl. It fits the hole very well but I would expect it to probably be deeper. Nevertheless it displays very well. The inside is clean and tidy and the exterior has a rich patina with no major damages and it comes with its original working key.
