William Moorcroft Jug

Circa 1940

Fine example of a beautifully hand painted jug in the popular 'Leaf and Berries' design. The jug displays very well and is unmistakably Moorcroft. The pattern is set on a deep blue background and shows a beautiful leaf surrounded by red and blue berries on both sides of the jug.

Approximate Measurements :

Top Diameter : 4" (10cm)

Height : 5 3/4" (15cm)

The jug has an impressed stamp mark with facsimile signature for William Moorcroft along with 'Potter to HM the Queen'. This dates the piece to between 1928-1949.

The jug is in excellent condition and is a good example of an early Moorcroft piece. There are no chips, cracks or restoration and the colours are bright and vibrant. There are some minor light surface marks and a small scuff on the bottom of the foot (see photo) but nothing major or detrimental.

A nice piece for the collector. The best description comes from the photos so please look carefully at them all and if you have any questions at all please ask.
