Antique Tabletop Collectors Drawers
A lovely tabletop pine chest of six graduated dating from the early 20th Century. It is a good quality piece and is solidly made with hand cut dovetail joints on all the drawers. This particular chest was originally used to store a collection of eggs in. Each drawer is graduated in size and would have been divided internally into compartments. Two drawers still have the original dividers and there are remains of the hand written paper labels for the different breeds of bird. The remaining wooden dividers can be easily removed or modified to make the chest useable for storing a variety of things.
It is in good original condition and displays very nicely. It has picked up a few minor knocks and scuffs over the years and there is a repaired old split across the front of the top (see photo) but it still displays well. The drawers all open and close smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside.
