Antique Apprentice-Made Chest of Drawers

A lovely miniature mahogany chest of drawers, dating from the mid 19th Century. It is a charming piece with four graduated drawers, each with their original turned knobs. The chest itself is made from mahogany with a pine back and it stands on small bracket feet. It is well made and each drawer has a solid mahogany front with pine interior and is beautifully made with hand-cut dovetail joints.

It is in good original condition. The mahogany has a wonderful aged patina and the piece is sturdy and the joints are strong. It has retained all of its original knobs and the interior of the drawers is generally clean and tidy. There are some general signs of age and use and minor knocks and particularly an area of staining on one side (see photo) but overall it displays very well.
