'REWARD' Technical Drawing Set
department of Science and Art
Good example of an early to mid 20th Century technical drawing set contained within its original fitted wooden case. The case is stamped 'Reward. Department of Science and Art' and would have been presented as a prize to a high achiever at school.
The set contains 6 individual high quality brass and steel instruments plus a wooden ruler, also stamped 'Reward'. The ruler has the maker 'Harling' on it, as does another of the instruments. The two bone (cow / bovine) handled instruments are marked for the marker 'Cary, London'. Each instrument fits snugly into the blue velvet lined interior
Length : 7 1/2" (19cm)
Width : 4" (10cm)
Height : 1" (3cm)
The whole set is in good condition and displays very nicely. It has obviously been well looked after and all the instruments are in good condition. I do not know if they are all original to the set. There is some minor wear and light rust on some of the metal parts but nothing detrimental. The wooden box is in good condition with just some light scuffs and surface scratches however the catch to keep the lid shut doesn't work too well.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
