William Moorcroft Flamminian Vase
Fine example of a beautiful red vase with stylised pottery roundels made by William Moorcroft in the early 20th Century, as part of a range commissioned for sale at Liberty's. This particular vase is signed on the base W.Moorcroft but does not carry the actual Liberty mark. The vase is footed and is a lovely shape with a flared rim. It is very Art Nouveau in its style and design and the roundels are typical of that period and of goods produced for Liberty & Co.
It is in good condition overall. There is fine glaze crazing over the body of the vase a very small chip on the foot with a small light scratch above on the body of the vase. There is also a further very small nick on the foot of the vase. On the top rim of the vase their is a faint hairline crack but this does not go onto the body of the vase. I have photographed any damage specifically so please look at the photos for the best assessment. The damage really is minor but it is priced to reflect this. The vase displays beautifully.
