Oak Tilt-Top Occasional Table
late 18th Century
A lovely oak tilt-top table dating from the late 18th Century. It is a particularly large size with a circular planked top set on a thick turned baluster support with tripod splayed legs. It has been sympathetically restored and is very sturdy with a good level top. The brass closing latch has been replaced and is in good order. There has been some old worm in the bottom of the feet which has all been treated as a precaution and has not affected the table structurally or aesthetically. The whole piece has a beautiful rich patina and is a lovely honest piece of country furniture.
