Jame's Hadley's Faience Vase

circa 1900

Beautiful Hadley's Faience vase decorated with beautiful blush ivory panels of roses between blue and gold raised border. It is a fine example of superb craftsmanship and the decoration has been beautifully hand painted. The vase is a pretty shape and it comes with its original matching lid, beautifully decorated with an acorn shaped finial on the top.

Approximate Measurements:

Height (including lid) : 7" (18cm)

Max. Width : 5" (13cm)

Inside the lid and on the bottom of the vase is the James Hadley & Sons Faience stamp, dating it to circa 1900. There is also "171B/15 painted on the underneath, likely to be the shape or model number.

It is in excellent condition with no major damage, crazing or restoration and the gilding is clean and bright - the only points to note is a small pinprick glaze imperfection on the rim (see photo) and a very small chip underneath the bottom of the vase which has just fractionally come over onto the outside of the vase. It is practically invisible when the vase is standing (see photos). A very pretty piece indeed that displays well - a wonderful addition to anybody's collection.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
