Georgian Mahogany Open Armchair
A good quality mahogany carver chair dating from the early 19th century. It stands on square chamfered legs with large scrolling arms and square rails. It has a drop-in seat pad which is upholstered in an attractive needlepoint cover with bright geometric design.
The chair is in good condition for its age and has a lovely rich patina. There are some signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks and an old repair in the top rail (see photo) but nothing detrimental and overall it displays beautifully. It is strong and sturdy and ready for use.
