Antique Westcountry Glazed Pine Dresser
A good example of a large westcountry pine dresser dating from the mid 19th century. The base has an unusual arrangement of drawers, having 3 long drawers over 2 central drawers with cupboards either side, flanked by attractive turned columns. The cupboards open to reveal a shelved interior and all of the drawers and cupboards have their original oak knobs. The top part of the dresser has two glazed doors either side of a central glazed arch. The top has a deep shelved interior with thin strip plate holders on the shelves.
It is in excellent condition throughout and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. It has been thoroughly cleaned and has a nice smooth waxed finish. It is not without some signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. The glass is all original. The drawers all open smoothy and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are some old historic woodworm holes in the sides but this hasn't affected it structurally or aesthetically and they have been treated as a precaution.
