Dapple Grey Rocking Horse
Early 20th Century
Recently professionally restored
Beautiful example of a period wooden rocking horse set on a pine rocker base. She really is a fine piece that has been well loved and recently professionally restored by Haddon -"England's Oldest Established Rocking Horse Maker" - with no expense spared. She is a dapple grey colour with black mane and tail, brown leather tack and reins and a beautiful red leather saddle. The saddle is original and is of the highest quality with a wonderful aged look which sets off the whole piece.
The horse is set on a sturdy pine rocker base with lovely turned columns and black metal fittings. It is stamped "AW CAMACE Ltd. LONDON" which is likely to be the original maker or retailer. It also has a Haddon plaque affixed, with identity number R286 - denoting that they have restored the horse.
Having been restored, the horse is in excellent condition and has still retained its old traditional look. There are a few small signs of wear and tear and the paint on the top of one ear is slightly chipped but there is nothing that in my opinion detracts from the piece. It is perfectly usable and displays absolutely beautifully.
Approximate Measurements :
Height : 46"
Length of rocker base : 50"
Width of rocker base : 16"
